Problem with desktop icons

The icons aren't right clickable via mouse or the keyboard. I opened one and it opened IE. Is there any way I can remove these items from my desktop? Thanks.

Well it depends on what opps your using. If your using X P, then sometimes a bubble appears telling you that you have unused icons on your desktop and to click here to remove them. I have not figured out how to access that withougt this pop up bubble yet. Otherwise if your running anyother opps you should be able to go to my computer or windows explor, and get to your desktop and just delete them. Gluck.

To run the desktop cleanup wiszard, go to start menu, settings, ctrl panel, display and you will land in a multi page dialog box. Ctrl tab to desktop page. Tab to customize desktop and hit enter. Hit alt C to start the desktop cleanup wizard. hth.
